Has there ever been an Icelandic-horse World Champion that was beaming with joy just like young Norwegian rider Lona Sneve during her prize-giving ceremony in Oirschot as the winner in speed pace and pace race? We are so happy to be able to welcome to Berlin this young rider who in 2019 for her comeback on the big stage will still be able to participate in the same age group.
We wanted to find out from Lona what the titles from 2017 mean to her and how much she is looking forward to the adventure of defending her titles: „I am super proud of my horse (Stóri-Dímon) and that we managed to be so very fast at the World Championships. Before going to Oirschot, I hadn’t really thought a whole lot about how it would be to become World Champion, but when the times are so fast and so many people are happy for me and come to congratulate, that is like a big dream coming true, of course. Now I’m hoping that we both will stay healthy and that we can still be really fast in 2019. Then it will be great honor to once again be on the Norwegian team, for Dímon and me to do our best in Berlin and to be competing in front of such a huge crowd.“
The team of WM 2019 wishes Lona all the best for another unforgettable experience.
