How does riding therapy work?

Hardly any animal turns out to be as healing for humans as the horse. Its behaviour and movements are used to support the social and physical abilities of disabled people to act in everyday life. The riding therapy stimu- lates muscles and movement sequences of the rider and thus helps to build up a healt- hy physiological movement pattern. No other therapy achieves this.

Imagine: your horse is passing through the Brandenburger Tor, and... The energy bursts out. You get the goose bumps. The crowd is screaming in excitement. The music pumps you and your horse up. At some point your breath is taken. The horse runs in. She knows what to do. You trust, she does. You give the right signs – the horse goes into a canter. You move a few inches to a side – now, the pace. You slow down. The crowd is crying. You breathe out.
